Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer – It’s Time to Take Your Rightful Place in Society

Know when hand sanitizers first come into the market many years ago? All thought they were such a wonderful product (the best thing since the proverbial “sliced bread”). People were captivated by the fact that in 15 seconds or less, they could kill 99.9 per cent of disease-causing germs on their hands. A miracle indeed! The poor hand sanitizer is like a thoroughbred race horse, the race favourite that charges from the starting gates but ends up drastically fading in the final stretch. How can a commodity like my latest skinny jeans taper off so promising? Okay, here’s my opinion of what happened, and why I think it’s time for the hand sanitizer to take their rightful place in society.

The market’s first-hand sanitizer was a gel and it contained, and still does, alcohol in that respect. Over time, studies have emerged revealing that hand sanitizers based on alcohol were actually bad for your hands. You see, the alcohol makes the skin dry and cracked, leaving crevices in which the germs get trapped. In fact , studies indicate that the more often you use them, the less effective they become.

There were also reports that we should not use hand sanitizers because they weaken our resistance and diminish our ability to fight off germs. They frightened us into believing we would become helpless and unable to fend off nasty germs if we relied on hand sanitizers.

I ‘m sure many of you heard this line before “we need bacteria … it really helps us … it makes us more strong.” My reply: A resounding “phooey.” Let’s be clear on this … There are many kinds of bacteria out there and many can cause us sick.

Let’s not forget, of course, the germaphobics which also contributed to the bad rap. When we thought about hand sanitizers, it came to mind images of eccentric germ-obsessed individuals pumping hand sanitizers relentlessly into their pale hands. Not beautiful sight.

Well, it’s time somebody talked up and came to rescue hand sanitizers. It’s time to clear up all the popular misconceptions, open our hearts and minds and reclaim the rightful place of the hand sanitizers in community. Quite a bold attitude, do you think? Let me put forth my case.
